By prioritizing local industry and services, Amar Seafood will contribute and participate in the development of the community’s socioeconomy.  

Increased productivity will result in an increased need for new and existing suppliers and support personnel, increased activity in the area as well as multiple career possibilities.

Logical choice in farming

Whitefish represents only 13% of the seafood consumption in Ontario and Quebec, Wolffish is a high quality fish with high demand in the consumer market.

Salmon accounts for around 2/3 of the consumed volume in Ontario and Quebec, giving significant growth potential for whitefish species.

Whitefish has been underperforming in the fresh segment.

With our aim to create a sustainable and efficient processing facility, Amar Seafood focuses on utilizing innovative and environmentally friendly power systems.

Hydro Power

Hydro Québec is a public utility that manages generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Québec. By using clean and renewable hydro power. In order for us to become carbon neutral, we need to be connected to a power grid that focuses on generating renewable energy. Canada has established power grids which gives us access to clean, green energy.

In order for us to succeed today we need to keep the future generations in mind.

World Population

Global population growth is driving the demand for increased food production. The health benefits of seafood are increasingly being promoted by global health authorities and there are multiple segments of the population that are in need of healthy and sustainable sources of protein. Aquaculture can deliver healthy food options that still meet the demand for sustainable food production, that meet the needs of an aging population and growing middle class in emerging markets.

Secure food for future generations

Statistics show that aquaculture will outgrow wild catch fishing. We have to keep the needs of the future generations in mind, both in terms of diet and environment, and create a foundation based on sustainable and cost-effective solutions. This way, aquaculture will help sustain the growing global population for years to come, whilst continuously reducing the impact on our surrounding environment.
