Gigha Halibut

Reviving a Trusted Name in Sustainable Aquaculture

Reviving the Brand
Gigha Halibut is a well-known name in sustainable aquaculture, rooted in the west of Scotland and recognized for its exceptional quality. Now part of Amar Seafood, the brand is being revived through the expertise of Otter Ferry Seafish, a pioneer in land-based farming with over 50 years of experience. Together, we are building on a strong foundation of responsible production, consistent supply, and premium halibut.
The Story

Gigha Halibut has its origins on the Isle of Gigha, off the west coast of Scotland, where a passion for quality and responsible aquaculture shaped its reputation. Known for producing robust, healthy fish, the brand earned recognition among chefs, seafood suppliers, and industry professionals for its commitment to premium standards. Today, Gigha Halibut’s story continues under Amar Seafood, with the fish still bred from the original broodstock that helped build the brand’s name. We continue to build on decades of experience in land-based farming and sustainable production methods.

What's Coming

Together, we are preparing for the next chapter, where tradition and forward-thinking aquaculture come together to offer halibut you can trust.
