About the position

Amar Seafood is currently building a strong and specialized broodstock team focused on Atlantic halibut production. You will join a rapidly growing team that currently consists of two employees, with the goal of establishing a dedicated team of four people during the initial phase.

The broodstock operations are international and closely connected to the company’s value chain. Spawning activities take place in Scotland, Canada, and Norway, with close collaboration across the wider Amar Seafood organization.

The position plays an important role in the continued development of robust routines, biological quality, and long-term broodstock operations, and includes shift work particularly related to spawning periods.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of spawning operations
  • Participation in spawning activities in Scotland, Canada, and Norway
  • Handling of eggs, milt, and biological samples
  • Sampling, registration, and documentation
  • Follow-up of fish welfare and biological security

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a practical and hands-on approach
  • Preferably has experience with broodstock production and/or halibut farming
  • Preferably has education within aquaculture or marine farming, or other relevant experience
  • Is proactive and motivated
  • Is structured and reliable
  • Has good execution skills and the ability to see practical solutions
  • Has solid computer skills and experience with relevant digital tools
  • Is fluent in Norwegian and preferably has some English skills
  • Enjoys planning, motivating others, and contributing to a strong team environment
  • Thrives in an operational role while also handling administrative tasks efficiently
