Another Milestone for Our PEI Facility

We’re pleased to share that Amar Seafood has received ministerial approval for the environmental permit for our new land-based aquaculture facility in Victoria, PEI. This approval marks another major step forward in our long-term commitment to sustainable seafood production in Eastern Canada.

The Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action (EECA) has concluded that the environmental review was thorough, and that the conditions tied to the permit adequately address potential concerns raised during the process. With this green light, we are now officially cleared to move ahead with construction and operations.

This milestone reflects not only the strength of our environmental plans, but also the positive and transparent dialogue we’ve had with regulators and the local community throughout the assessment period. We’re grateful for the thoughtful input shared during public consultation and for the collaborative spirit that has shaped the development so far.

Once completed, the new facility will allow us to scale up our production of halibut and spotted wolffish using responsible, land-based methods that meet growing demand for high-quality, sustainable seafood.

As with all our work, this project reflects our focus on responsible growth, high-quality production, and long-term thinking. We’re excited to move ahead with the next phase and will continue to share updates as the site begins to take shape.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the review process and look forward to what’s ahead.
