Gabriel Haarvei is Joining the Amar Seafood Team

We are excited to welcome Gabriel Haarvei to the Amar Seafood team!

Gabriel, 22, from Bergen, has recently completed his apprenticeship at the Institute of Marine Research in Austevoll, where he trained in aquaculture. He also brings hands-on experience from his time working at the National Aquarium in Bergen.

Gabriel joined Amar Seafood on November 1 this year and is part of The Spawning Team as a Halibut Technician/Operations Technician, working closely with Margareth Møgster, who trained him during his apprenticeship. He will spend most of his time at our facilities in Scotland and Canada, contributing to our halibut broodstock and spawning operations.

It’s inspiring to see the next generation showing passion for aquaculture and taking an active role in the industry. Gabriel’s curiosity, enthusiasm, and hands-on experience make him a perfect fit for advancing sustainable halibut production.

Outside of work, Gabriel enjoys diving, traveling, and exploring new experiences – a curiosity that reflects his approach to both life and work.

We’re thrilled to continue the collaboration between Gabriel and Margareth and can’t wait to see the expertise and energy he brings to the team.
